Michael Gwilliam: Top 5 Golf Courses

Over the last two years, participation in golf has increased dramatically. Corporate golf experiences are on the rise too. The best business is done out on the course, right?

With that in mind, Michael Gwilliam, XSEM Commercial Director, takes us through his Top 5 Courses, from bucket list destinations to the good old favourites... Let us know what you think!

No.5 - Ullna Golf & Country Club

North of Stockholm, Sweden

“A stunning property with some amazing holes across the water. Highly rated, this little gem makes you want to go back for more. We once took an international group there and they asked for each travelling nation so they could have all the flags represented on their flagpoles. Unbelievable service!".

No. 4 Trump Turnberry

Ayrshire, Scotland

“It is just magnificent, from the first tee to the last. The changes they have made around the lighthouse are simply spectacular. The hotel is first class and the views across the Ailsa Craig on a clear day are breath-taking".

No. 3 Kiawah Island Golf Resort

South Carolina, USA

“Simply wow, what a golf course! In terms of golf, it has everything and the famous “war on the shore” Ryder Cup history lives on. The service is incredible too - definitely a bucket list destination!”

No 2. Bandon Dunes Golf

Oregon, USA

“This is a little-known gem in America that has 4 courses, all featuring in the World’s Top 100 Golf Courses. It has an amazing par 3 course and it’s very hard to beat in terms of having so much quality on the same property.”

No 1. Real Club Valderrama

Andalusia, Spain

“It’s the Augusta of Europe. Nowhere I have ever visited has ever been in such pristine condition. We have been going there for years, the service and access we get is unrivalled. The moment you walk through the gates, you get a feeling of being somewhere special - maybe that’s because of its European Tour and Ryder Cup history.”

Beautiful courses!
