Content & Communications ManagerSophie Burn is XSEM’s Content & Communications Manager, helping brands connect with audiences through strategic communications, engaging content and impactful event experiences. Since joining XSEM in 2022, she has worked across a wide range of events, elevating them through her passion for storytelling and creativity.

Bio & notable achievements
Since joining XSEM in May 2022, Sophie has played a key role in helping clients create meaningful engagement through strategic communications, creative campaigns and content-led experiences.
Working across a variety of sectors and project types, Sophie leads communications and marketing initiatives that support brand engagement before, during and after live experiences. Her work spans content strategy, marketing campaign planning, creative management and event communications, ensuring every audience touchpoint contributes to a clear and compelling story.
With a degree in Journalism, Media and Culture from Newcastle University, Sophie brings a strong editorial mindset to every project. She is passionate about transforming ideas into engaging content and helping brands communicate with clarity, creativity and purpose. Whether developing an exhibition communications plan, creating thought leadership content, managing campaign delivery or supporting a major event launch, Sophie’s focus is always on understanding the audience and creating experiences that inspire action.
Alongside her client work, Sophie supports the continued growth of the XSEM brand through content creation, industry thought leadership and strategic marketing activity.
Outside of XSEM
Sophie is heavily involved in her local community and enjoys staying active through sport and fundraising. She captains and coaches her local rugby team.
She also volunteers at a local weekly 5km event and is currently training for a half marathon in support of Meeting Needs, the events industry’s charity. Away from sport, Sophie enjoys playing the piano, cooking for family and friends, and spending time camping whenever she gets the chance.
