Celebrating 50 years in style

To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Windsor wanted to reward its employees with an fun and unforgettable day, bringing together colleagues from across their network.

We created the Windsor Festival concept, developed the event identity, and delivered a fully managed festival experience that transformed the Heart of England Conference & Events Centre into a vibrant celebration of the people behind their business.

Approach

A bespoke festival for a landmark milestone

Reaching a 50-year milestone felt like the perfect opportunity to bring employees together from across the business, celebrating everything the company has achieved, and thanking the people who had helped make it happen. The brief was clear: create something fun, memorable and non-corporate.

Rather than organising a traditional anniversary event, we developed the concept of Windsor Festival. Simple, recognisable and packed with potential, the idea immediately gave the celebration its own identity and set the tone for everything that followed. From there, we took ownership of the entire project, blending creativity, logistics and event management to create an experience employees would genuinely want to be part of.

To make sure the event reflected the people it was being created for, we established a group of ‘Branch Champions’ made up of employees from across the branches.

They helped shape decisions around food, drink and activities, giving us valuable insight into what would make the biggest impact on the day and what their teams would enjoy most. The group also became advocates for the event within their branches, helping answer questions, support registrations and build excitement in the lead up to the celebration.

Creating momentum before the event was just as important as delivering the experience itself. We developed a suite of promotional materials including A2 and A4 branch posters, A5 flyers and email communications, all designed to drive guests towards a bespoke event website and registration platform. The platform became a central hub for attendance, accommodation and event information, making the booking process simple while helping build anticipation as the festival drew closer.

From the outset, this was a true collaboration between our creative and operational teams. Every decision was made with the guest experience in mind, ensuring that the branding, communications, logistics and on-site experience worked seamlessly together. The result was an event that felt joined up from the very first invitation to the moment guests arrived at Windsor Festival.

Experience

Bringing the festival to life

The Heart of England Conference & Events Centre was the perfect home for Windsor Festival. Its central location made it easy for employees to travel from branches, while the venue’s outdoor space gave us a blank canvas to build something truly memorable. With a spacious tipi providing wet weather cover, we had everything we needed to bring the festival vision to life.

From day one, we wanted this to feel like a real festival, not a company event. Working alongside a network of trusted suppliers, we transformed the venue into a fully branded celebration space packed with entertainment, colour and energy.

A main stage formed the heart of the festival, hosting live entertainment throughout the day and showcasing a video celebrating Windsor’s 50-year history. Around the site, guests could explore a mix of fairground attractions including dodgems, waltzers, crazy golf and a bucking bronco, creating plenty of opportunities for colleagues and guests to let their hair down and enjoy themselves.

Food and drink were a big part of the experience too. Alongside the ‘branch champions’ we carefully selected a range of street food vendors to give guests plenty of choice, from Yorkshire burritos to BBQ favourites and grilled chicken. Alongside the food offering, a packed entertainment programme featuring live bands, roaming performers, a DJ, saxophonist, mixologist and face painter ensured there was always something happening across the site.

We also paid close attention to the moments in between. Relaxed seating areas and social spaces gave people somewhere to catch up with colleagues from other branches, while bespoke photo opportunities encouraged guests to capture memories from the day. A giant Windsor-branded photo frame quickly became one of the most popular spots on site.

The festival identity ran through every touchpoint. From stage graphics, flags and directional signage to wristbands, bucket hats, food branding and motion graphics, every element was designed to immerse guests in the experience. The result was exactly what we set out to achieve: a vibrant, welcoming celebration that felt a world away from a traditional corporate event.

Behind the scenes, we managed everything from registration and guest communications to accommodation and transport logistics. Dedicated hotel stays and coordinated coach transfers ensured attendees could focus on enjoying the celebration, giving Windsor complete confidence that every detail was taken care of from start to finish.

A celebration employees will remember

Despite the scale and complexity, the day ran smoothly from start to finish. Our team managed every operational detail, from coordinating arrivals and transport to live production, entertainment transitions and guest flow. We adapted in real time where needed, handled last-minute production requirements, and ensured all elements, from staging and audio to hosting and logistics, worked together as one cohesive experience.

Most importantly, the event never felt over-managed. Guests were free to experience the day in their own way, creating a natural, social atmosphere that aligned perfectly with the client’s objectives.
