In partnership with global paints and coatings leader PPG, we were appointed to manage a full-scale painting renovation at Bury Hospice as part of the 10 year anniversary of PPG’s Colourful Communities initiative.
This meaningful project aimed to transform the hospice’s environment into an even more welcoming and uplifting space for patients, staff, and visitors.
End-to-end project delivery
We kicked things off by working closely with both Bury Hospice and PPG to understand exactly what was needed and how we could make the biggest impact.
Planning & Coordination: We managed every logistical detail of the project, ensuring timelines, supplies, and roles were clearly laid out – so everything ran smoothly over the weekend.
Volunteer Management: With 100 volunteers on board, we took care of sign-ups, info packs, and pre-event communications, making sure everyone arrived informed and excited to get stuck in.
On-the-Day Leadership: We were on site throughout, leading teams, solving problems on the fly, and keeping energy levels high.
XSEM really are the best. The Colourful Communities project was a huge undertaking for our business, they removed the stress of organisation in the lead up to the event and during. The XSEM team even volunteered to help us completely decorate Bury Hospice.
The project came to life across a single weekend, with a huge group effort from PPG staff, local volunteers, and the XSEM team. It was an inspiring atmosphere – filled with paint rollers, laughter, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose.
Thanks to careful planning and clear coordination, everyone knew where to be and what to do, and we made sure the experience was as rewarding for the volunteers as it was for the hospice itself.
Our in-house videography team supported onsite, capturing the transformation as well as a selection of impactful testimonials.
Clear impact
The impact was clear the moment you walked in. The hospice felt brighter and refreshed – a space that truly reflects the care and compassion of the people who work there.
Here’s what we achieved together:
- 100 volunteers took part in the transformation
- Full repainting of key areas throughout Bury Hospice
