Quick-fire Q&A with Nicola

Quickfire Q&A with Nicola

You may have seen on our socials that #TeamXSEM have had a busy few weeks getting back into the swing of things (quite literally) with XSEM Golf events all over the country.

Doing our first live, physical event since lockdown was undoubtably daunting but just like riding a bike, everything soon came flooding back.

We’ve done a quick-fire Q&A with Nicola, Account Manager at XSEM, to see firsthand what it was like being back project managing onsite. Here’s what she has to say…

How long have you been running live events?

I’ve been working in the events industry for 12 years now, with 6 of those at XSEM!

How does it feel to be back at it?

Honestly, it feels great to be back running live events

Its so nice to be able to talk and re-connect with our clients. We also receivea number of compliments regarding our management of maintaining social distancing throughout the events

Have you faced any challenges when getting the golf days back up and running safety?

We had to go through lot of Health and Safety and risk assessments to ensure we had all angles covered. These were then submitted to our clients H&S departments. It was a lengthy process, but everyone’s safety was always top priority.

Following the government guidance, we removed anything that could lead to groups gathering. No post-golf drinks or food and all prizes are announced but posted to guests after the events. Despite that, there was plenty of networking opportunities throughout the events for clients to reconnect with their customers from a social distance. From feedbackit was a great success!

Also, to ensure everyone felt comfortable, we brought everything outdoors and with a few trusty marquees we were protected from the British weather. Although the golfers didn’t seem to mind the weather at all, they were just happy to be back!

Finally, what have you enjoyed the most about being back?

Chatting with people (we all know Im a talker!). There are some regular faces that I know well and some new ones. Everyone was just so appreciative that the event could go ahead and everyone embraced the measures we had in place. The event couldn’t have gone any better!

Let’s chat about your next golf event…

If this is going to be one of your only ways to interact with clients, why not get the experts in to make sure it’s a huge success and delivered safely?
