WINE TASTING

VINEYARD VISITS, LUNCH AND GOURMET DINNER IN THE LANGUEDOC REGION, SOUTH OF FRANCE

This proposal is for a corporate visit to the vineyards of the Languedoc region of France. XSEM propose to present your guests with a wonderful trip to the Languedoc which will include:

5 Couples (10 guests)
Accommodation in 5 double/twin rooms
Vineyard visits to Domaine Gayda
Lunch in Minerve
Gourmet dinner with wine at Domaine Gayda

Escape for a night to experience and enjoy the wines of the Languedoc with XSEM. We will take you on an exploration of some of the Languedoc vineyards, tasting and sampling wonderful wines whilst learning how they are made from some of the interesting characters you will meet.

The Languedoc is a realm of history and enchantment... a region that stretches from the Pyrenees to the Rhone river, and from the foothills of the Cevennes to the Mediterranean Sea.

We have chosen the beautiful and picturesque hotel Château de Camon situated in the heart of the Languedoc it is a place of peace and tranquillity. Heir to a long monastic past, with the appearance of a manorial fortress, Camon invites us to experience a subtle mixture of history and architecture

Your visits to the vineyards will be led by a WSET qualified wine expert who has a passion for this wonderful wine region and will guide you through the different appellations.

You will fly to one of the regional airports and transfer to your hotel where you will be met by one of our team. Once you have settled in we will take you to visit the vineyards of Domaine Gayda. The Domaine is situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees and its vineyards are scattered across different regions including La Lavinière and others in Corbières. We will visit some of these before enjoying lunch in the beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne. After lunch you will have time to wander through this incredible city before we make our way to the Domaine Gayda winery. Here we will meet the wine making team and following a tutored tasting we will taste the wines from this exciting Domaine.

Domaine Gayda boasts a superb restaurant and their goal is to tempt the “Gourmet” in you to indulge in their cuisine and delight in the fruits of the region and the passion and creativity of their chef Pascal. We will enjoy dinner here before returning to our hotel for a restful nights sleep. After breakfast the next day you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.

TIMETABLE

This timetable is based on flights arriving at Carcassonne Airport at 9.15 a.m. and can be revised to take account of later arrival times.

11:00	When guests have all arrived and settled into their rooms we will board the coach and begin our drive through the Languedoc vineyards. The drive will take 1.5 hours interspersed with stops to view vineyards and learn about the area.
12:30	We arrive in Carcassonne where we will spend 2 hours sight seeing and having lunch.
14:30	We depart for Domaine Gayda, our route will take us through more vineyards.
15:15	Arrive at Domaine Gayda. Our visit begins with a wine tasting tutorial. The tutorial will be relaxed and informal and will provide guests with the skills to enjoy the visit at the Domaine to the full. We will also provide guests with an overview of the Languedoc area, the various appellations and the distinction between AOC wines and Vin de Pays.
16:30	Following the tasting we will begin our tour of the winery lead by the director of the Domaine Gayda Tim Ford. The tour will include all the areas of the winery from the reception where the fruit arrives and is selected then onto the fermentation area and finally the maturation area where those wines intended for barrel maturation are aged.
18:00	Domaine Gayda tasting - Tim Ford will lead guests through a tasting of at least 8 wines from Domaine Gayda.
19:00	Dinner. Guests will dine in the Domaine Gayda restaurant where they can choose from the menu and enjoy the wines of the Domaine with their meal.
21:00	When guests have finished dining they will be taken by coach to the hotel which is approximately 20 minutes from Domaine Gayda.
