FIRST AWAY WIN OF THE SEASON

Leeds AmaZones secured their first Away win of the season, and fourth place in the League, after a battling performance at Gomersal.

The AmaZones were much the better team in the first half and the only surprise was that by the interval they only led by a solitary goal - a fine strike from outside the box from captain Emma Levin.

When Levin doubled the advantage shortly after half time the points looked secured however Gomersal scored with 15 minutes left to ensure a grand stand finish.

Fortunately the width of the post, some fine defensive blocks and the brilliance of keeper Jemma Silvert ensured there were no further mishaps.
