In 2009 The Open Championships will return to Turnberry. It will be the fourth championship to be played at Turnberry, that is most famous for for the 1977 ‘duel in the sun’ between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus. With the sea by your side and that famous lighthouse in the distance, there are few course in the world that can match Turnberry for beauty or excitement, so there could not be a better venue to host one of golf’s oldest championships.
