The Ebor Festival, which takes place in August is the jewel in York's crown. The blend of the very best horses with a sense of tradition and style make it the centrepiece of many a sporting and social calendar. The totesport Ebor handicap, one of the most famous races of the Festival was first run in 1843 and is now the feature race on the Wednesday of the meeting.
